Don't miss the New York Underground 'tricked-out' car display at the New York Autoshow featuring the VIKING SRX-7, developed by Laminar Concepts. The SRX-7 has been called "a street rocket gone ballistic in the tradition of the Lotus Super Seven". The neo-retro styling is a blend of British Lotus Super Seven and American open wheel racecar, combined with a 450 HP Mazda turbocharged rotary engine and driveline that makes this one hot vehicle.
More about the SRX-7:
The carbon composite body incorporates chin spoiler, polished stainless steel bumpers, hood scoop, ground effects, rear diffuser, taillights and side scoop.
There are three engine options: The "stock" engine is a Mazda RX-7 turbo rotary engine. Turbo, intercooler, stainless steel exhaust and air filter upgrades for 350 HP @ 7000 RPM. Or a T-04 (single) turbo, 13b pumping out 400 HP engine. Or, opt for the ultimate, a 600 HP, 3-rotor 20b turbo engine. Imagine any of these in a car that weighs 1545 lbs. Wow. Complete Technical Specifications can be found here.
Turn Key kits start at $64,500. There were 12 produced in 2001. |
