January is always a busy month for Rotarynews. Between the Detroit Autoshow, planning the new year's events, and normal Rotary News, there is also the Tokyo Autoshow. The Tokyo show is the same time as the press days for Detroit. I thought that I should hold off on the articles from the show until the excitement from Detroit calmed down a bit... So here is the big news from the Tokyo Auto Salon.
Besides the girls, tricked out RX-7s, and special MazdaSpeed editions, this years auto salon contained a special treat, a new Cosmo Sport. Mazda Sangyo, a sub-contractor for Mazda Japan, took a Miata, placed a Renesis in it, and changed to body to look like the first Mazda Rotary, the Cosmo 110s. Shown next to Mazdaspeed special editions, the Cosmo Sport is expected to go on sale in JAPAN ONLY soon. It should be noted that Mazda Sangyo built this car, and not Mazda, so I doubt it will ever be brought into the states. (Unless we press ultra hard)
I have two press releases in Japanese regarding the Auto Salon. If you would like to look at them, click here for Page 1 and Page 2. |
