Las Vegas, July 11, 2006 - Abel Ibarra and the Flaco Racing, Racing Beat PRO-RWD RX-8 to make their first appearance of the 2006 NHRA drag season at this weekend’s (July 14-15) NHRA LAS VEGAS SPORT COMPACT NATIONALS at “The Strip” at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

RotaryNews.Com spoke to Abel yesterday, and he stated that the team is very motivated and excited to get out to and give the piston boys a taste of Rotary power in the top NHRA PRO-RWD class. The team has been working hard the last few months with a few updates and innovations that should help the RX-8 run with the Toyotas.





Flaco Racing has always run very well at Las Vegas Strip, and they are looking to improve on their previous performances. With the reduced stress of not running a full NHRA season this year, due to sponsorship and funding issues, the team is loose and ready to break some rotary records, Abel stated. And if past team history at Las Vegas is any indication, and with a little help from "Lady Luck" this weekend, all Rotorheads in attendance might just witness some wankel magic!
