Mazda to Produce 4 Rotor 26C RENESIS for Next RX-7 - April Fools |

Normally, the Hong Kong Autoshow is all about small cars for the Chinese and other Asian markets. But at this year's, Mazda stunned everyone with the announcement of the return of the RX-7. Jaws dropped on the show floor when the hood was opened. A brand new 4-Rotor Multi-Side-Port RENESIS 2.6L will power the beast. That was the good news, the bad news is it will only be available in Japan and China, since smog restrictions are much less in those countries.
Mazda Head Engineer Apru Furu said "this car has been a long time coming. We won LeMans with the 4 Rotor engine, and we decided it was about time the driving public got a chance to enjoy its smooth power."
Mazda has only released the photo of the motor at this time, and since it was an absolute surprise to us at RotaryNews.com, we did not plan on attending the Greater Hong Kong Motor Car Show. We have open calls into Mazda at this time for press photos, but since it is a Saturday and April 1st, don't expect any photos of a new RX-7 for a while.
Yes, this was an april fools joke... Check back for more real news later!! |
