John Hogdals Imsa GTU Mazda RX7
Submitted by MarkJohnston on Monday, September 5, 2005 - 7:58pm

Looking for any information on John Hogdals Imsa car that was built in the late eighties. Its the car with the solid front axle, and was bodied as an 88. Looking for anything someone might have on this car, pictures or any kind of background.
I do know that the builder died of a stroke shortly after construction.
I'm looking to restore this unique car, and am in need of some help.

I would call Roger Mandeville in SC. He might know of the car. I also have some SCCA, GTU/GTO video coverage from the 80's. Is it a full roller?

I have spoken to many people regarding this car, but no one
seems to have any pictures or info.I have some info from
Mr. Hogdal, but even he dosen't remember very many details.
As for my progress on the car, I have been defabricating
for almost a year(getting rid of previous owners work)
I finally have the steering rack after sending it out to be rebuilt, it took almost 5 months! The shocks are rebuilt with new springs. The only thing I am missing is a comp water pump. The mechanical fuel injection prohibits the use of any stock water pump housing. Does anyone know of one kicking around?
Thats all for now.
