Round Three of the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear started this Friday with a official practice in the rain. Brandon Thomas led the opening practice session with a time of 1:33.882, the best of the eleven drivers that posted times.

The weather forcast for Friday afternoon called for partly cloudy skies and dry track conditions. An expected forty-six drivers will take to the track at 3:40 PM Eastern Time in the final practice session before Saturday morning's qualifying session, then the 45 minute Race begins at 4:25PM Saturday.
