For years Japanese Sports Car loving Americans have heard about the king of Japanese Motorsport Series: The JGTC. Some have traveled to Japan to watch the event live, others catch the series on DVD. This weekend, at the California Speedway in Fontana, California, the rest of us will get a chance to see these speed machines in action.
Some call it the NASCAR of Japan, and rightfully so. Next to NASCAR and F1 racing, the Japanese series has taken Japan by storm. From the first races just 10 years ago, to their first race in the US, the Japanese style of racing makes for great entertainment, and inpsires some in the crowd to become involved in racing at the local levels. Un-like modern Nascar, the race cars are based on stock models, but have upwards of $1.5 Million spend in upgrades and tuning.
Come join us this weekend, tickets are still available at the "gate" for $45. We will be covering the event this weekend, and provide a wrap-up of the event, with a Rotary SPIN! to it. |
