Does anyone remember what color replaced CYM (Competition Yellow Mica) on the Rx-7 after its debut (93) model year?

I had one. 93 R1 Competition yellow mica. Built to run. No comfort stuff. No sound insulation, etc. Two oil coolers, all the venting functioned. The interior was a sticky"suead" to keep you in the seat. This was the eara of the 5.0 Mustang. I would line up at the light, hit it, and I and my passangers thought the mustangs were propting me just to watch me go. I really did not think they were trrying to race. After a while I realized they were racing-giving all they had. The R1 was wicket fast. On a cool morning with only a little fuel it would almost, almost lift the front end off the ground. The R1 was independantly clocked at 3.9 zero to 60. It did .99 lateral G's. Any thing you did to it-modifications-slowed it down. It was a 911 slayer

Too bad Mazda dropped the yellow paint. It just cost them a sale, I was planning on purchasing an '05 RX8 this coming spring and wanted yellow, no other color will do it for me. I can't imagine not having a yellow option in any series sports car, be it a four door or two door sports car. Geesh :-(

I can't believe they dropped the yellow either. I have a 92 yellow Miata I bought new and if I could get my mits on a yellow 2005 RX8 I'd sell a kidney to get one.

Good to see white has been added to the list of colours.

Mazda are on the ball with a few tweaks here & there since last years release in 2003. White paint is a good start.

Am looking forward to the series-II version which is suspected of getting a sequential box aswell as further power.

Am guessing the series-II should be from 2006.....????

Just hope they keep the white as an option in 2 years time.

I have an RX-8 and I just bought the small portable Roady receiver from XM. It fits right between the shifter and the seat warmer buttons with velcro patches. And it only takes a few minutes to install yourself. Sounds great though the Bose stereo.

According to the dealer where I just bought my 2004 RX-8, he says that they are waiting for the equipment to come in that will fit the '04s for sat radio. We'll see.
