Depending on where you live, the 10th anniversary of the Mazda Miata-yes, it really has
been around that long-is this year or was at the back end of 1999. Specifically, if you live
in Japan, the festivities happened last year.
And by some dint of good fortune, we were there, at the Mazda Roadster Fest in
Tsukuba, near Tokyo, on September 25. Mazda invited owners of Miatas,
Wankel-engined Cosmo Sport coupes, and RX-7s to come and spend some time on
this club racing track and watch a bunch of journalists do battle in a four-hour race in
identical domestic-market 1.6-liter Miatas. |
