Jeff Mobley was the first to send in a link that was a few months old from the XNN (Xmen News Network). The aricle stated that the character Cyclops (now found out to be Wolverene)'s car in the movie X-Men 2 would be the none other than the 2004 Mazda RX-8. Today, confirmation came in the form of the Official XMen 2 Trailer. At 1 minute 6 seconds there is a less than 1 second shot of the RX-8, exiting a garage.
It is still unclear if the RX-8 will have crazy weapony, or what not. We will have to wait until May 2nd, 2003 to confirm.

An image histogram and level correction algorithm was run on these frames, they confirm that it is the RX-8, with a high rear spoiler, and possibly headligh overlays.
One last thing, I did notice that in the trailer, the engine sound isn't correct, as usual Hollywood butchers the sweet sound of the rotary! |
