My daughter got a 2005 RX-8 2 months ago. Last week she was driving on the freeway and the low coolant light came on. About 1 min later all of the lights on the dash came on and she lost power. She pulled over and called me. She said that smoke was coming out of the engine. We had it towed to the Mazda dealer. After 3 days they finally told her that the engine was blown and it was not covered by the warranty because it was an external problem. They told her the engine blew because if overheated. They also told her if it was an internal problem it would be covered, but this was an external problem. I don’t know what that means.
She changed the oil and have all of the fluid levels checked just over a week ago and everything was fine. I’m going to see them tomorrow. If anyone has any ideas on what I can do to fight this let me know. They told her the engine replacement was almost $5,000. |
