June 1, 2009 - Bergenholtz Racing and Justin Pawlak are ready to make their Formula D debut at Wall, New Jersey. Bergenholtz Racing just completed two days of testing this past weekend at Balcony and The Oval in Willow Springs. Technical testing was conducted by the team for the optimum setup for Formula D’s Wall, New Jersey event. “The Mazda RX8 is completely insane. The 3-rotor makes so much power and sounds so sick. The NT05’s are sticking so hard that we actually have too much traction. I can’t wait to rock the house for all the Mazda fans in New Jersey.” Said Justin Pawlak drift pilot of Bergenholtz Racing. |

SpeedSource Castrol Syntec Mazda RX-8 Scores Podium at VIR |

04/29/2009 - The SpeedSource Castrol Syntec Mazda RX-8 team looked to rebound from a somewhat uncharacteristic showing at the Rolex 24 and a podium finish at Virginia International Raceway is just what they needed. After qualifying on the pole the day before, Nick Ham continued where he left off to start the race. Ham and fellow Mazda driver Dane Cameron led the first ever all Mazda front row in Grand-Am competition to the green flag. Despite the 90+ degree temperatures Ham stayed cool and out of trouble and ran some very consistent and quick lap times. "Nick drove great this weekend" stated David Haskell, team Technical Director. "First with an awesome lap in qualifying and then with a very consistent and trouble free opening stint, when the car handles like it did at VIR it's so much easier to run fast consistent laps. I am so impressed with how the SpeedSource team has constantly worked on developing this car, it continues to improve every race" Ham added. |

Finally, the 2009 racing season has begun! March 22nd marked the season opener for the 2009 Super GT series, and Rotarynews.com was sure to make the trip to cheer on the lone rotary entrant- the M7 MUTIARA MOTORS AMEMIYA SGC 7. Okayama International Circuit (formally known as TI Circuit Aida) is a course that has an interesting history. It actually hosted the 1994-95 Formula One Pacific Grand Prix events, and has been in the Super GT schedule since 1998, back when the series was still known as JGTC. Did the 7 fare as well in the race as it did in testing at this commemorated track? Find out after the jump. |
